Hydraulic cylinders are the muscle of any excavator, loader or crane. Selecting the wrong specification leads to poor performance, seal failure, and costly downtime.
The bore diameter determines the push force of the cylinder. Use the formula: Force = Pressure × Area. For a 80mm bore at 210 bar, that equals roughly 10.5 tonnes of push force.
Always measure the required travel — not just the retracted length. Factor in mounting positions and machine geometry. Over-stroking causes rod seal damage.
Standard excavator hydraulics run at 200–250 bar working pressure. Always choose cylinders rated for at least 1.5× working pressure as burst rating.
For high-temperature or chemical environments, choose polyurethane or PTFE seals over standard nitrile rubber.
